Resistance Theater fest to have Gen. Soleimani Award

The Resistance International Theater Festival is to have a special award of General Qassem Soleimani.

The secretary of the 17th edition of the event said that the award will be delivered to the winners at the closing ceremony.

The organizers announced that they plan to have the award for the next editions too.

Lt. Gen. Soleimani, who was the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was assassinated along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), as well as eight other people in a US drone strike at Baghdad’s international airport early on January 3.

He defended Iran against the offensive by the US-backed regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

The 17th edition of the Resistance International Theater Festival is slated for November 21- December 5, 2020.
